The Sugar Regulatory Administration - La Granja Agricultural Research and Extension Center (SRA-LGAREC) is the national research center for sugarcane under the Sugar Regulatory Administration-Visayas Research, Development and Extension (RDE) Department.

SRA-LGAREC is also the lead agency of the consortium called La Granja Agricultural Research and Development Center (LGARDC) occupying a total land area of about 500 hectares together with the following agencies: Bureau of Plant Industry - La Granja National Crop Research and Development Center (BPI-LGNCRDC); Philippine Carabao Center @ La Carlota Stock Farm (PCC@LCSF); University of the Philippines at Los Banos College of Agriculture- Research and Training Station (UPLBCA-RTS); and, Department of Agriculture - Regional Integrated Agricultural Research Center for Region VI (DA-RIARC).

SRA-LGAREC occupies a total land area of 90 hectares with 76 hectares devoted to field experiments and propagation of High Yielding Varieties (HYV's) and 14 hectares occupied by its buildings and facilities.

SRA-LGAREC is about 9 kilometers East of the City of La Carlota. La Carlota City is about 49 kilometers South to Southeast from Bacolod City, the capital of Negros Occidental.

SRA-LGAREC, in particular, and LGARDC, in general, offers a conducive environment for agricultural research, training and extension services not only for sugarcane but as well as a wide variety of crops of economic importance.
